The museum at Boy Scout Camp Raven Knob is operated several days and evenings each week during the summer camp season, and on special arranged times when other events are held during the year at camp. Operating hours during camp are posted in each campsite and other strategic places.
The Camp Raven Knob Museum was open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the 7 weeks of camp; and, at other arranged times to accommodate special interest groups.
2011 was one of the busiest years yet! Hundreds of Scouts and Scouters visited the museum to learn more about the history of Camp Raven Knob and about those individuals that helped make and develop Raven Knob and the Old Hickory Council.
Many visitors enjoyed playing our "Solve The Riddle" game, cooling off, seeing our newly acquired first edition of the BSA Handbook. Others enjoyed learning about woodcarving and learning to make bracelets and other crafts. Our "Hummer" was also a popular item.
The museum in the Scouting Center, 6600 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC, is available as a self-tour during the normal business hours of the center. There are five showcases with different theme displays that are changed periodically.
